Requirement

A new-build development of large private houses required renewable heating, hot water, cooling, whole-house ventilation and indoor pool heating without visible external plant.

Challenge

Boreholes and ground loop headers had to be drilled and manifolded within a tight, actively built site, and the ground array had to carry heating, pool and passive cooling duties together.

Solution

Solux delivered the full mechanical package: vertical boreholes with manifold chambers, ground source heat pump plant rooms with buffer and hot water storage, underfloor heating throughout, passive cooling from the ground loop, MVHR ventilation and the indoor pool plant.

Systems installed

  • Ground source heat pumps
  • Vertical borehole array with manifold chambers
  • Passive (free) cooling from the ground loop
  • Underfloor heating throughout
  • MVHR whole-house ventilation
  • Indoor swimming pool heating, filtration and circulation
  • Plant rooms with buffer and DHW storage

Heating, hot water, passive cooling, ventilation and pool duty delivered from one ground array per house, commissioned and handed over as a single mechanical contract.
