Requirement
A 37-apartment residential development required a low-carbon central heating and hot water strategy that could serve every dwelling from a single plant, with individual billing and metering per apartment.
Challenge
Rooftop plant space and structural loading were tightly constrained, and the distribution network had to deliver stable flow temperatures to every riser without oversizing the primary pipework.
Solution
Solux delivered the full mechanical package: a 128kW rooftop air source heat pump array feeding a central plant room, primary distribution to each riser, and heat interface units in every apartment feeding underfloor heating circuits.
Systems installed
- 128kW rooftop ASHP array
- Central plant room with buffer and DHW generation
- Heat interface units (HIUs) to all 37 apartments
- Underfloor heating throughout
- Primary and secondary distribution pipework
A single centralised low-carbon plant serving all 37 dwellings, with per-apartment heat metering and underfloor heating handed over fully commissioned.
